May 3: Iain Rennie fundraising for Jamie

Some of you know my friend Melanie and her son, Jamie. For her birthday, she has asked for donations to be made to Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. This is a great cause, and to make things easier for you, she has created a JustGiving page for him.

Feb 11: Andy's Kawasaki experience

My brother Andrew is trying to win a motorcycle. He is leading a design contest run by Kawasaki to create a new livery for the new ER-6N. Please vote for him and encourage anyone else you know to do the same.

His plan is as follows: to win the bike, (in his chosen livery) then have it displayed at Kawasaki's head office in Bourne End. He hopes to get it signed by the current Moto GP riders then provide it to the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.

Jan 7: A new arts critic on the scene!

My friend Nish has started a blog, "Musings from Minerva's Armchair" where she discusses and writes critiques on events in the London arts scene. I encouraged her to do this (put your passions into practice!) and I think her style is edgy and knowledgeable. Why not pop her a comment and suggest a show for her to review? She includes ballet, poetry, art and the stage in her remit. The blog also has a beautiful template thanks to Rory's Wordpress magic.
